Two great movies in two days

First day, late night show of Avatar in 3D Ambience’s Hall and then next day first day last show of 3 Idiots. Life could not have asked for more.

Two extremely different movies, one takes you into unheard ocean of imagination and other shows you hard-hitting reality with one of the best comic scenes.

Avatar:

First comes first.  First reaction to Avatar:  Ohhh Man, how can one think like this. Superb, amazing. Larger than life.
Hats off to James Cameron, result of 12 years effort could not have been better than this.  He waited technology to evolve to his level of imagination. Greatest level of imagination, ever achieved in a movie.  The visuals are breathtaking. Every detail was thought out and used as a part of the virtual world of Pandora.

Film shows a mirror to our breed, the human race. How cruel we can be. How bad we can be to our mother nature. We are killing earth just for our comfort and greed. After all these years of nature destruction, are we waking up? Will just meeting at United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen give us back what we have lost.

Story was not so great but its the technology that made the film look superb, go for special effects and not for story. But only watch in 3D (best is IMAX 3D, if it’s there anywhere nearby)

3 Idiots:

सारी उम्र हम मर मर के जी लिए, एक पल तो अब हमें जीने दो जीने दो |
बचपन तो गया जवानी भी गयी एक पल तो अब हमें जीने दो जीने दो |
Give me some sunshine, Give me some rain.
Give me another chance, I wanna grow up once again.

Yes, this is the message film gives.  Wake up, Fuck IITs, IIMs and AIIMS. Do whatever your heart says. Don’t be part of crowd. It’s never too late. Chase excellence, and success would follow. Be an IDIOT (I do it on my own terms)

3I (3 idiots) starts from where TZP (Taare Zameen Par) had left us. The film mixes elements of TZP with Munnabhai’s humor, making a comment on the education system without going down the documentary route.
Film raises question on issues like student suicides, grading systems, parental pressure, practical versus to theoretical knowledge, difference between well-trained and well-educated.

TZP conveyed the message that Every child is special and 3I conveys that everyone is special.
You can easily relate yourself to one of the 3 idiots. Is it not the story of every other child in India? Has not expectations from our parents, teachers, society and media, killed us.
Why our parents and great Indian society don’t care about what we are good at. We are running blind folded in a race and don’t know when the race will end.

I think, this is time, India is waking up. Somebody said that cinema is a mirror of society. Cinema is now surely coming of age. We don’t need people like Subhash Ghai, Shahrukh Khan anymore. They might be great entertainers, but did they ever tried to give something back to society and raise the most relevant issues of Indian society.

Lighthearted, entertaining, you will dip into ocean of laughter in some scenes. I did not read Five Point Someone by Chetan Bhagat till yet (don’t laugh. I don’t like to read). It’s good that I did not read that before otherwise I would not have enjoyed the movie so much and would have missed some parts of film, comparing the novel and film. Now thinking to read just to relate how matching the novel is. Anyways, I am sure I will choose movie as better in the end

Another perfection from my favorite Aamir Khan. After working hard for 6 packs for his last film Ghajini, now he has lost all his muscles to look like a young man in his twenties, and superbly delivers as a perfectionist. He breathes, looks and performs like a 25-year-old. He proves that no one is close to him when it comes to perfection (Shahrukh, are you listening).
Now its a Hat-trick of Aamir and Rajkumar Hirani’s Blockbusters.
Sharman is super brilliant, feels like Sukhi (from Rang De Basanti) has gone to next level. This must be his best performance till date. Madhvan looks very natural on screen. Boman is as usual fantastic. For a change, Kareena delivered some good performance and looked charming. Ohh wait, Thats does not mean that she is a great actress or anything, still I am not a great admirer of her.

Must watch, for everybody, a parent, an engineer, a teacher and all Indians. In the end, you will come out happy, moved, and thoughtful.

Under bad circumstances, Say to your heart that “Aal Izz Well!”.  Don’t run after स्तन (sorry for the typo, its धन) and go, do बलात्कार (ohh sorry, चमत्कार)  with your life.
