You can check your EPF (Employee provident fund) balance online here: Know Your EPF Balance. This service was launched on 1st July, 2011.
On 24th July, 2012, another website to check monthly balance is also launched by EPF department. The EPFO subscribers can get their statement of accounts online on this website: EPF Member Portal. In order to avail this facility, the active subscribers would have to register themselves on the EPFO portal by furnishing their account details. The facility to obtain e-passbook will be available only for active members of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) and would not be extended to those whose accounts are inoperative, settled or have negative balance.
Steps:
- Please click on the above link to know the balance in your EPF Account upto the date.
- Select the EPFO office where your account is maintained and furnish your PF Account number.
- Leave the extension field blank, in case your account does not have one.
- You will be asked to enter your name and mobile number. The given mobile number will be recorded along with the PF Account Number.
- On successful submission of above information, the details will be sent through SMS to the given mobile number.
We tested this out and were little disappointed as balance was only shown upto 31-03-2009 for two of our accounts, for others it says ‘Invalid Member Id’.
Account balance SMS from PF department will have following structure:

Unfortunately, I am also waiting for refund of two of my EPF accounts desperately.
Earlier, my queries on EPFigms were answered saying computerization is delaying the process, but now they have even stopped responding.
Only way left is now to file a RTI to know reason for delay and timeline by which it will be done.

EE is for employee portion balance and ER is employer portion balance.
Sir,
An employer deduct PF from our salary @12% and same amount deposit by the employer from which 3.67% goes to PF and and 8.33 % goes to Pension account.
Now I want to know how can I know the total amount deposit by the employee and employer in PF and pension account

You can ask your employer to provide form 3A or annual EPF statement slip.
However, you can compute amount deposited yourself too, as deduction will already shown on your salary slips.
so to get the estimation on total amount, do we add the two components or there would be some deductions also that take place at time of final reimbursement?

There won’t be any deduction at reimbursement time, In fact, amount would be more than contribution, because of interest.

Amount received in SMS does not include pension contribution.

If your employer is not signing EPF documents, get your signature verified from a bank Manager, any gazetted officer, by Member of the Central Board of Trustees. / committee / Regional Committee (Employees’ Provident Fund Organization) or Magistrate / Post / Sub Post Master / President of Village Panchayat / Notary Public and submit the Form to the PF office with a covering letter mentioning clearly the reason why you were not able to get form verified by previous employer.

Unfortunately EPF department does not sends out any statement or details of refund.
You should crosscheck amount according to your contribution.
