  4. There is a mistake of spelling of Rohtak under UHBVN heading. It doesn’t look nice and needs to be corrected immediately.

  5. Hi Pankaj,
Can you please tell us which one would be best cash back credit card to pay the DHBVN Electricity bill.. Like Standard chartered Super Value titanium gives 5% on Electricity bills but this has a limit of 100 on electricity bill. But if the bill is more than Rs 2000 than it would not be a good credit card to go with. Do you have any information about any card where we can get max… Welcome suggestion from others as well…

While the user makes online bill payments through his Credit Card/Debit Card, convenience fee equal to a fixed percentage of the bill amount will be charged.
      · Currently the convenience fee is equal to 1.00% for MasterCard/Visa/American Express of the bill amount of the user.
      · The total amount that will be paid by the user will be equal to bill amount + convenience fee rounded off to the next highest integer.
      · In case payment is made by net banking, then Rs 4/- per bill shall be charged by the Payment Gateway Provider.
      · In addition to the above charges, Service Tax will be charged on the convenience fees.
      · This convenience fee is liable to modification as per norms of the respective payment gateway providers, subject to authorization by UHBVNL.
NOTE: Convenience Fees paid by the consumer are the charges collected by Payment Gateway Provider for Internet payment and UHBVNL is only collecting the bill amount from the consumer.

      • Hi Pankaj,

Thanks for making this wonderful blog. Could you please have a look to the query posted by me. I know there is a 1 % extra charged but there are different Credit cards using which we can save some extra percent. If you have any information. please share it with us. It will be very useful for all of us.

        Regards,
        Deepak

Most of the cashback cards have limits in place for maximum cashback. Citibank has 100 Rs limit, others like Standard Chartered bank too have such limits.
Maximum benefit you can avail with a reward point based card. Say if a bank pays 1 point per 100 Rs spend and its 1 point is equal to 1 rs while redemption, then its like 1% cashback. e.g. Citibank IOC card gives 1 point per 150 spend. These points can be redeemed on Indian oil petrol pumps with 1 point equal to 1 Rs value.

          • Thanks Pankaj for response.
As you mentioned on spend of every Rs 150 we get 1 reward point(Rs1 value) with IOC CitiBank Credit Card but this would not be beneficial since we are paying 1 % extra because of using Credit card instead of Net Banking. Did you try any other card which can give better cash back value.
Suggestion from other also welcome. Lets make this a healthy discussion to save some extra bucks. 🙂

            Regards,
            Deepak

I generally use Amex card for payment. There are various ongoing offers available which help me gain maximum out of it.
As of now, if you spend more than 4 times in a month for spend more than 1000 Rs, there is extra 1000 points credited to account. Maximum point redemption value is 1/2.4 Rs (for 24000 points, you can get Rs 10,000 gift card).
Plus there is another offer going on, if you spend more than 500 Rs in 4 different categories (from Utility bill, Restaurants, Fuel, Supermarket, Movies, Telephone/Mobile) each month, they give bookmyshow movie voucher worth Rs 700 for 2 tickets.
