Today heard of layoffs in Sapient Gurgaon Office.
Heard that all meeting rooms are covered with black clothes.
Doctors, ambulances and extra cabs are arranged. People were sent packing in cabs in batches.
Must be very sad mood out there. Feeling very bad about guys there.
Somebody please save this world from recession.

I am working with Infosys since 2.3 years .I have offers from Sapient and IBM.Both are for WCS .Which would you guys suggest?
Definitely go for IBM brother. NEVER opt for Sapient. They hire and fire people at will. Even one mistake you are put into PIP (Performance Improvement Plan) and kick you out. Recently one of my friends put down his papers in one of the teams @ Sapient. In his team 2 people has already quit in 1 month. Since attrition is a metric for the managers, the manager put it as “termination” for this guy and asked him not to come to office from next day onwards. Though he had to serve 1 month notice period as per rules.
Go for IBM. I l too left Infosys and joined Sapient. I could not adjust at Sapient for more than 4 months, there are few good projects there and they make you slog like dogs. Staffing is not good there and it is very difficult to get intogood projects as they have tough client interviews.Dont fall into trap because of money,IBM is much better in all respects.
ok.This is specifically for WCS skill ,an e-commerce framework.I believe they would have identified the project into which i will be put.
WCS has clients like Target which they might put you in, if you are joining at Bangalore.I dont think they have identified the projec to put you in, because staffing at Sapient does not work that way. They first recruit, then staffing searches for projects. In general, there is zero co-ordination between staffing and project management there. Still, you may get projects quicker since WCS has demands there.As WCS has good demands in companies, I would suggest you to wait for some time and you can get into a much better company. Infy is going for a salary hike as well, so better to wait and try getting into better companies like Intuit/Dell Perot/CSC/even accenture/even IBM if it offers reasonable package, etc.The brand value of these companies is very high, even though they offer little less package.It will definitely help after another 2-3 years.

Hi B and all others. I have been appointed for Bangalore location. I have heard that they have good Java projects. I am more worried about the personal life after joining Sapient. I am female and I guess it’s going to be a challenge to handle both house hold and Sapient job together.

think hard before joining sapient. too many people leaving and some like me are stuck here. every project is running into problem and there is no one to care. leadership is just making ppt. i am guessing there is no good people who know software development. even the global head of delivery does not know software development. he has no experience in running large projects. managers in tcs are beter than directors at sapient. it is all just talk about culture and people growth. better to get few thousand less in infosys than come here
kindly do not join this comapny……….what so ever they pay…..they hire at such a package that u wont be able to go to anywhere else once u join here…and after joining suffering is like a hell…..they only talk talk talk…….culture is just pathetic…….leads , managers…….
directors are the worst one……other thing is openness…openness is more than required….
better join infosys,tcs,accenture,wipro,ibm,satyam or any other small company where show off is less and culture is good….and also u get time to learn…
sapient kabhi bhi join mat karna…….naam bade aur darshn chote…..
although they are not firing now…but u never know….

I am petrified after reading all the posts here. I was working for Accenture and joined IBM 2 months back. But I am not very happy with the project I am into.
I got an offer from Sapient on Sat for Sr Associate L1. They have also given me some 25% shoot on my existing salary at Gurgaon Location.
Please send me an honest feedback pertaining to the current scenarios of Sapient.
Should I join or should not I join.

Thnx for ur reply but my motive was not to hurt some one here. Actually every company fired resources during peak recession,be it Accenture or IBM.
I actually want to know if the scenario is still that bad with Sapient post recession or things have improved.Or you feel that this is some thing I should opt only if I am jobless to become jobless again…lols…
donot trust any body not even me do what u think is good for ur future cz its urs futures of course u cannot be just dependent on some comments about which u r not even sure whether these are fake or real…………
wanna know some facts about a company go and talk to the employees of the company by face …….spend some time by doing something concrete not by reading these comments of the persons u donot even know .
Let me give you some realistic example.
There is a manager Ankur Srivastava in Target project.
He says directly to work late night and weekends every week, else says resignation letter template is there sign and give me else i want to terminate, no roll off.
People are just working to save their bread and butter, not like they are enjoying work.

I also got an offer from Sapient this saturday. After reading this blog i forced to think should i join or not. currently i m working in IBM but getting very less salary compare to What sapient is offering. Pls suggest me, should i join sapient or not.
Getting offer and entering in sapient is easy.
Your real tech testing start after that in projects, while you are on bench.
And remember being on bench very risky.
You may be asked to resign at any point of time.
Sapient just talk good cultured company.
But fact is that all are fake to impress you.
Better work in good cultured company and never blood sucker company sapient.
Here employee are asked to work late night and weekends to increase revenue by charging more hours to clients.
Never join sapient if you really value your life
I have got an offer from sapient for the position of Senior associate Program Management in gurgaon. they are saying they are hiring me for Sapient nitro. They have taken 2 rounds one is of case study and other is of people management. I have also not a very good image abt the company as i have also few known examples as discussed here. but still i need the unbaised expert advise of yours. Please advise me should i join or not………………….some people are saying that the position is of mid managemanent so might be chances to get some good opportunities ……….Please advise…….i am working as a business analyst………..you all are welcome……

@Bhaskar. If you don’t have any personal life, hobbies and interest. If you are workaholic. If you are indifferent about job security then Sapient is the best place for you to work.

I got an offer from Sapient and Stryker both from Gurgaon. The amount offered is almost the same and I would say its a good package at my experience level. I know in Sapient I need to work for 12+ hours a day but I have heard the same thing about Stryker too.
I need your help in making a decision. I need to decide over the weekend only so early responses will be greatly appreciated.
