EPFO (Employees Provident Fund Organization) is now moving to electronic payment system. PF refund amount will now be credited directly into member’s bank account through NEFT (National Electronic Find Transfer).
Currently department issues cheque and post it to member’s address, the process takes up to a month and leads to a large number of complaints. EPFO will also collect the mobile numbers of the members so that it could send SMS alerts informing about credit of the pension amount.

Employer sends form 6A to PF office every year.
In case there is a mismatch in form 3A attached with PF withdrawal form and 6A in records of PF department, they may reject the form.
You should contact your previous employer who issued form 3A asap and get it corrected.

I applied for PF withdrawal in the 1st week of June 2011. If I check online it says it is under process. But if I try to check the amount, it says invalid entry. The same happens when I try to check the PF that I am getting from my current company.
I served in the previous comapny for nearly 1 and half year. And then I was converted as a full time employee. So will there be a TDS on my PF as I am withdrawing it? And does the PF office deduct it? How can I get it back? Appreciate your help in this regard.

Account balance system is not fully updated as of now, don’t worry about what it shows.
Please read How to calculate tax on EPF withdrawal here .
Most probably PF office won’t deduct TDS and you will have to compute yourself and add to your taxable income,

PF department may reject PF form if you are joining a new company and in-spite of getting EPF account transferred you are withdrawing the amount.
To make sure amount gets withdrawn, write a different reason like leaving India, self-employment etc.

Its a platform to share information and knowledge by and for common people.

Your accounts if have no activity for last three years, may been marked as inoperative. Please visit EPF office and talk to them for withdrawal.

I had applied for PF withdrawal in November 2010 and I got acknowledgement copy 3rd of February 2011. After that I follow up with your Kandivali office (Mr. Brito), but they lost my papers and they didn’t tell me the same. After that again I filled the form 19 and form 10C and submitted to Kandivali office in July first week. Till date I have not received amount.Kindly look into this matter and please do something to get it as soon as possible.

You may have to wait for some more time to get your EPF withdrawal as department is taking 3-4 months as of now to clear accounts due to computerization of records.
But why 3-4 months more, Because i have acknowledgment receipt of the February 2011, and after that THEY lost my papers and IF i again filled and submitted. THEY should take it on priority basis.
my company’s PF consultant suggest me to put written complaint regarding this so that they can take immediate action.
Do you really think that i have to do this.

i have worked with hdfc bank ltd as sales executive in kaithal haryana
from sep 2006 to Aug 2010 now i have left hdfc bank near about 1 years and i have all ready submitted my pf withdrawal form with form 10 c in hdfc bank in Nov 2010As per banking norms they have credited my bank contribution from my basic salary 12% .but it been 9 months left they are notable to credit my 8.33% employees contributions which was decided by PF department. After so many reminder bank will provide me Pf office number of bandra branch .But there is no one is picking the phone for last two months . pls help me

I have applied for my PF on 14-05-2011 , and still the status is in process. So much more time have to wait. If my PF was in Kerala might have got my refund within 3 weeks as its in Bandra Mumbai no way of dreaming so.

All PF offices are going under big changes of computerization. Thats one of the reason why refunds are being delayed.
My own PF refund is pending since April, 2011 with South Delhi office.
We have no solution but to wait and watch.
